Trophy Rules

No member shall be eligible for a Big Game or Fish Trophy award unless the member has obtained a membership by Aug 1st of the current year. Bring Compulsory Inspection Reports

Junior Category - not having reached his or her 16th birthday by January 1st of current year or not having reached his or her 18th birthday by january 1st of current year but still living at home and going to school.

Adult is 16 years old or more if not living at home and going to school or 19 years through 65.
- Trophy year is from January 1th to December 31st.

Pheasant - Tail feather length.

Goose is the field weight of the bird.

Duck is the field weight of the bird.

Photography - Any photo of live wildlife 4x6 maximum size taken in that year.

Photography - Scenery or Landscapes, does not have to contain wildlife.

Typical Mule Deer - highest scoring set of antlers using current BC Record Book scoring system.

Non-Typical Mule Deer - highest scoring set of antlers using current BC Record Book scoring system. (Any buck can qualify for the non-typical category with just one point being non-typical.)

Typical Whitetail Deer - same as typical Mule Deer.

Non-Typical Whitetail Deer - same as non typical Mule Deer.

Mountain Goat - same as Elk and Moose, only difference being horns not antlers.

Largest Caribou - same as Elk and Moose.

Best Bear - highest scoring skull using BC Record Book scoring system, and best percentage to book minimum in grizzly or black bear category.

Best Ram (sheep) - highest scoring ram's horns in percentage of minimum score in the BC Record Book for the different species of sheep, e.g. Clifornia Big Horn min 160, Rocky Mountain Big Horn min. 170, Stone min. 165, Dall min. 150.

Largest Game shot with a muzzle loader - highest scoring Big Game percentage versus the Black Powder Record Book minimums.

Big Game shot by a Junior - The highest percentage score of Big Game based on the BC Record Book. Minimums shot by a junior member.

Archery Big Game - highest percentage score of any Big Game animal taken with a bow and arrow using the Pope and Young scoring system minimums.

Largest Big Game by a Lady - highest percentage score of any Big Game animal taken by a Lady using the BC Record Book minimums.

Extended Rules on Big Game - any lady, junior, archer or black powder hunter can qualify for any regular big game trophy and win that trophy as well. If their animal was big enough to win that division also. Example - the lady takes a 140 point Whitetail Deer which was big enough to win the ladies trophy and she also could win the Typical Whitetail Deer trophy if her buck was the biggest entered overall.
